Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2016, Volume 10, Issue 2,   Pages 319-326 doi: 10.1007/s11783-014-0758-6

Abstract: In this study, by detecting the hindered zone from the complete thickening process of activated sludgethickening velocity, , describing the potential and performance of activated sludge thickening in the hinderedzone was developed. However, sludge thickening in the compression zone was not studied because sludge in the compressionzone showed limited thickening.

Simulation of cottonseed cake melt flow in metering zone of a single screw extruder

Hong HE, Jianguo ZHOU,

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2010, Volume 4, Issue 3,   Pages 263-269 doi: 10.1007/s11705-009-0276-4

Abstract: Research on the extrusion of natural polymers (food, feed, etc.) is relatively new due to the complex physicochemical transformations of raw materials, although plastics melt conveying and transport have been well studied. The structure and composition, rheological behavior as well as extrusion processing of natural polymer are much more complicated. In this study, a quasi-three-dimensional (3D) fluid flow model for non-Newtonian, non-isothermal and undeveloped temperature was developed, the model prediction being in reasonably good agreement with the experiment. Results show that the influence of moisture content, among other process variables, is the most significant, followed by screw speed. Some interaction exists between these two variables and the screw speed effect becomes marginal at high moisture contents. In addition, viscosity change in the channel was studied.

Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 8,   Pages 59-63

Abstract: scale building fire, it is improper to predict smoke descending using traditional simple two-layer zoneIn this paper, an improved method, named Cell-Zone Method, is used to solve this problem, which firstdivides the total space into some small subspaces and then uses traditional two-layer zone model inResults show that Cell-Zone Method demonstrates more applicability than traditional simple two-layerzone model in large scale building, especially in buildings having large scale in one direction.
